Here’s something No 5 Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and his players had to go after the Aggies 41:27 win over No 13 North Carolina:

“Understanding how to play on the big stage You have to be able to go to these games, understand everything that went with them, and understand everything that happens with them – the pressures with them, the fears with them , preparing for it and then performing when you need to perform and do what you need to do to get it done ”

“If you can’t see it, it won’t happen I’m not saying I knew it was going to happen, but I could see it there The potential was because you live in vision or you live in circumstances We’re trying in Living Visions If you can’t see things in the future and can put yourself there and know what it takes to get there and understand what kind of talent you need to have, which I think we are doing, you never will get there We kept painting this picture and these kids believed it and they saw it and went and did it ”

“There’s an urgency You know the game is at stake You are a good team You also have a scholarship, they’ll be doing plays But you have to say,” Okay, that’s all water under the bridge, you play next game, let me do what i have to do “There is an urgency and a caring and nerve wracking ability to take your game to the next level and get your job done no matter how you feel”That’s what great teams do, what competitive teams do, and what they do”

“He is one of the great quarterbacks in Texas history A&M A man who endured many things, overcame many things, his practical work ethic, his preparation and the things he did, the example he set , the ups and downs – people saw he had a good game, had some tough games, [but] never hung their heads, came back to work every day. He’s a role model for these kids on how to persevere because nothing is ever going to be perfect and you will have the ups and downs to see it through. He’s a tremendous person I love him to death but more importantly, I respect him to death for what he goes through for how he be Business runs what he stands for, how much he loves A&M and what he was able to achieve for A&M ”

“Our kids work hard, they play hard. They care. You care. You don’t put in so much work and then give it up. You learn to improve your game in the fourth quarter and you don’t win because you want to. You win because you practice and prepare for it ”

“It put our demeanor, leadership and character to the test. Something that I stressed throughout the season was the combination of the older and younger guys playing together on both sides of the ball and in both Passing as well as running. Even in the second half we never lost our poise and just kept attacking and we got a great win ”

“In our first year together, and when we look at where we are now, we have overcome so many things. We have had a lot of difficulties and a lot of people doubted whether he could win big games and also doubted me and we fought just keep going We only lost one game and are now Orange Bowl champions ”

“It was something that was talked about in the locker room, but no decisions were made, and I really just wanted to get out of here and focus on exactly what I needed to focus on and that was running my team and to lead to another victory ”

“To see their growth, both Isaiah [Spiller] and Ainias [Smith] are from their first through second year One thing that sets them apart from a lot of people is that they are all versatile and play games on both passes. We were able to do a lot of different things with each of these guys this year and we were able to perform at a high level. ”

“We stayed together We kept talking to each other, trying to push each other to jump back We always face adversity; Throughout the season we faced difficulties even before the season started So we are used to and used to coming together in difficult times ”

“It gave us all a boost. We were there trying to fight and fight for this energy that we wanted to get and once that happened you could just feel the energy. Energy is so contagious that you just get it can feel energy going through everyone It was an amazing result ”

“This is what we do. That’s the kind of defense we become. That’s the norm we want. When it comes to those third-and-short and fourth-and-short downs, we just go up up and ready to strive for ”

“It’s just because of our toughness and the effort we play with and what Coach Fisher is trying to build here. For [Jayden Peevy], that’s huge because if you just look back where we started and where we come from we have Coach Fisher and he changed the program For us seniors it is tremendous to be able to contribute and be part of the reason this program was changed ”

“You need to lock yourself in and make further game adjustments. They have a great team and they came out and fought hard, but we took the challenge off our hats to them for fighting us hard but that’s our way from game I think our guys do a great job when it’s time to step up ”

“When the pandemic first hit it was busy and we had social injustices. Some of these things pull teams apart, but I think it only made our team stronger, we got together a lot more and I think that was huge for us ”

“First of all, I have to thank the O-Line for it. It was a counterplay, Jalen Wydermyer made a great block and I just followed my blockers. They made it easy for me”

“We never point the finger at each other We always talk about lions, they are the pride That’s us – we work together We came out and the defense was stopped and we converted”
