It doesn’t take a genius to realize that Evan Fournier made a terrible debut at Boston Celtics
After being acquired by Orlando Magic on Thursday before the NBA trading deadline, the veteran sniper made his C debut on Monday, losing 115-109 to the New Orleans Pelicans
Fournier went 0-10 off the field and finished a minus 12 He wasn’t completely useless in the 33 minutes he played Grabbing two rebounds, adding a pair of steals and as many blocks, it was an unusually poor performance from someone who averaged 20 points per game this season
However, according to ESPN Stats and Info, he was only the fourth player in the shot clock era (dating back to the 1954/55 season), which was 10-10 or worse on their debut with a team
This must of course be viewed as an aberration until proven otherwise. Such an achievement is highly untypical for Fournier and it was his first game in a new system after a chaotic weekend
He deserves a pass for Monday, but the Celtics need it to get a rhythm soon
