Amy Tinkler has replaced Denise Van Outen – here’s what you need to know about her
Dancing On Ice is now in its third week and a brand new skater will be on the rink on Sunday
Amy Tinkler has replaced Denise Van Outen, who unfortunately had to cancel the show after a shoulder injury
The Olympic gymnast will team up with professional skater Joe Johnson, and she is already the second favorite to win – with odds of 3/1 (from Betfair)
She won the bronze medal at the 2016 Games in Rio and was the British all-round champion in 2015
She recently expressed her excitement about taking part in the competition on Instagram, saying, “For the past 3 months, Joe and I have worked very hard as the reserve team for @dancingonice and we are very excited to be part of it will”the show on Sunday!
“We’d like to wish @vanouten_denise a very quick recovery You have been so nice to us and we wish you all the best
“Thank you Joe for being the greatest partner, you are the best! Lots of love 💕”
Denise unfortunately had to drop out of Dancing On Ice after an ankle injury
She announced the news on Instagram earlier this week, writing, “GUTTED! If you’ve seen @dancingonice you’ll find I had a nasty fall and injured my shoulder a little over a week ago, and I made it to skate my first dance with @themattevers on the live show through a gritted smile because the pain was unbearable
“I’ve tried as hard as possible to keep going because I love the show and the great team in front of and behind the cameras. At first we calmly thought I could go back to the ice cream, but a recent MRI scan showed that I have 3 fractures and a partial dislocation OUCH! No wonder I was in agony “

“Due to my injury, I am unable to do lifts, tricks or solo skates on the show I will gracefully step out with my DOI bling sling @themattevers was the most incredible support and skate partner (a true friend) and me so thankful for his expertise in teaching me (Ice Virgin) the basics
“I just wish I were good enough to learn all the fabulous tricks my injury doesn’t allow me. Chair dancing on ice with a giant cake doesn’t get us any points in the leaderboard I’m actually proud of what I’ve achieved (not much, lowest score yet) If you don’t mind, I’ll give myself a few points for valor if I ride my bike on ice at 46 with broken bones
“I wish all celebs, professionals and judges the best of luck for the rest of the series I’m here for all of you Bundle of legends ⛸ # danceonice2021”
