Everything you need to know about the six contestants to win the top prize on the ITV quiz show

Tonight, a special episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire will look back on the first contestant to ever win the grand prize – Judith Keppel, who walked away with the £ 1 million almost exactly 20 years ago
Since that win, another five quizzes have answered all 15 questions correctly, including history and politics teacher Donald Fear, who was the first to win with Jeremy Clarkson as quiz master in early 2020
Of course, there was another candidate, as we know, who technically gave the correct answer to every question: Charles Ingram, aka the Cough Major whose victory was overturned after he was accused of being in on the help of his sister and another quizzer Dependent on the show, a story that was dramatized on the ITV hit Quiz earlier this year (Ingram was ultimately Ingram was convicted for securing the execution of a valuable security through deception)
We’ll take a look back at each of the legitimate winners ahead of today’s program, plus we’ve listed each of their £ 1 million questions below Can you answer it?

The hit quiz show started in 1998, but it took two years for someone to win the grand prize – and that person was former garden designer Judith Keppel, who died on Jan. Walked away November 2020 with the £ 1 million she apparently “fought for” money “before appearing on the show Keppel has remained a familiar face to TV quiz enthusiasts since joining the 2003 cast of Eggheads. p>
It was only five months before a second millionaire was on the show Former Welsh physics teacher and 1990 mastermind champion David Edwards responded on Jan. April 2001 all 15 questions correct Edwards used all three of his lifelines for one question – the 125000 pound question – and his son, who later turned 125 himselfWon £ 000 on the show when his friend After his win, Edward almost followed Keppel’s path on Eggheads – in two series of Are You an Egghead? However, in 2008 and 2009 he failed to win on either occasion
The next candidate to win the award was also in 2001 Oxford-trained banker Robert Brydges became the third millionaire in the show’s history.The victory came at a busy time for the show – just 11 days after the Coughing Major scandal, and Brydges happened to be in the audience during Charles Ingram’s performance, reports according to one of the few who noticed something suspicious
After Brydges won, there was a break of almost three years until the next millionaire Irish quiz world champion Pat Gibson finally ended the drought on Jan. April 2004 Gibson is firmly established in the quiz show world after winning Mastermind in 2005 and Radio 4’s Brain 4 in 2006. How Edwards did Gibson take part in both the first and second series of Are You on Egghead? and beat his fellow millionaire in the 2009 finals to join the Eggheads team
Perhaps no name in the history of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was as prominent as Ingram – and on Jan. On September 30, 2006, official Ingram Wilcox became the fifth grand prize winner and the last millionaire in the original series Wilcox was previously a losing finalist on a slew of quiz shows including Mastermind, Fifteen to One and Brain of Britain. He answered the last question correctly after seeing had already used all three of his lifelines

It took another candidate 14 years to become a millionaire – although it’s worth noting that the show didn’t air between 2014 and 2018. History and politics teacher Donald Fear was the first winner of Jeremy Clarkson’s tenure as host earlier this year and won on 11 September 2020 the main prize.His victory was all the more impressive when he was the first participant to win without using all available lifelines – in fact, he only used one, the 50:50 at the 32000 pound question
