“Tom & Jerry” is a film based on the legendary cartoon characters of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The film is directed by Tim Story, who is known for “Shaft”, “Ride Along” and “Fantastic Four” ” Warner Bros got closer to Story after he finished his work on “Shaft,” and when he mentioned Tom and Jerry, he got the idea to tackle the property when he’d grown up watching the cartoon Sorry Plays “Tom & Jerry” looks more like a movie made by someone who is completely unfamiliar with the property

The film follows Kayla, played by Chloë Grace Moretz, as she takes up a position in a New York hotel. Her job is to help Terrance, played by Michael Peña, plan a high-profile wedding, although the film is about Tom and Jerry is supposed to act, he spends way too much time with the human characters. If the characters were good it would be one thing, but they’re either very unlikely or incredibly annoying

The concept of having Tom and Jerry in New York is not only a bad idea, it’s also unoriginal. A similar concept was implemented in the 2011 film “The Smurfs,” in which the Smurfs walked the streets of New York The idea wasn’t good then, and ten years later it’s not good today. Story’s decision to follow in the series “The Smurfs” does not agree with someone who is a fan of Tom and Jerry, but rather with someone who just making a heartless studio film

One of Story’s biggest flaws is the soundtrack of the movie “Tom and Jerry” as an animated series is known for its use of classical music and in some cases even used for jazz. One of their Oscar-winning short films, “The Cat Concerto”, is used Franz Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 ”with great impact Over the years, the cartoon has featured many classic works by Gioachino Rossini, Frédéric Chopin and Johann Strauss II, to name a few. Additionally, jazz is used by Louis Jordan and Jelly Roll Morton. The film’s score was by Christopher Lennertz composed who is known for his work on “Shaft”, “Hop” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks” ”

Lennertz doesn’t bring anything to the table in this film; Its score is as general as possible and contains almost no music from the classical cartoons. There is evidence of jazz throughout the score, but to this extent the score tries to reproduce the feel of the original cartoon, the score is one of the most at the end of it most of the distracting aspects of the movie that really drag it on

Cartoons as a whole, and “Tom and Jerry” in particular, have an incredible use of sound effects, whether it’s breaking a piece of furniture or the sound of one of Tom’s iconic guttural screams, the movie actually uses some of those sound effects they will however not used as often as they should be, and they sometimes feel out of place. Many of the sound effects appear to be standard sound effects that can be found on the internet which is quite disappointing

The TV show is known for its slapstick comedy, and that’s the kind of comedy we see in this movie between these iconic enemies That being said, the slapstick is rather poorly executed in a typical episode of the cartoon, Tom and Jerry wreak havoc in a house, trying to harm each other with items they find in the house. In the movie, the two literally pull items out of thin air during the antics. In some ways it’s a sucker, but since the movie is set in a hotel, the two could find all sorts of things in the building It’s nonsense to ignore the perfect attitude for slapstick mayhem in exchange for the lazy path they’ve taken

“Tom & Jerry” is pretty bad as it’s a movie that doesn’t have the spirit of the original cartoon. The movie appears to have been made by someone who has a profound misunderstanding about what the original cartoon was about. Made Cartoon So Great Sure, it does include some of the other characters from the cartoon, but it doesn’t feel real. Instead, it feels like an attempt was made to create a connection between the movie and the show “Tom & Jerry “is not worth a watch
