Bodyguard star Richard Madden offers co-star Priyanka Chopra very tight protection as they soar through the air on the set of their latest blockbuster

The 34-year-old became such a sensation in the BBC drama opposite Keeley Hawes that he was named a future James Bond

And he displayed a daring 007 himself worthy of dangling from a harness while filming another big budget espionage project, Amazon’s upcoming Citadel series

Madden, wearing a futuristic khaki outfit, put his arm protectively around his 38-year-old co-star as they did their stunts in a wooded area in Surrey last week

Ms. Chopra, a former Miss World who enjoyed success in Hollywood and Bollywood, donned a silver and black two-piece suit for the scene before getting behind the wheel of a gun-filled buggy

During a break in filming, the two were seen giggling as they looked at their phones

“They looked like something out of a Marvel action comic in those costumes, but when you saw them laughing like a bunch of overgrown teenagers, the penny suddenly dropped that they probably weren’t going to save the world from anything,” said a spectator

Citadel, in which Stanley Tucci also plays, is described as an “action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional center”

The series is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers behind several hit Marvel films, and will include a number of spin-off productions

Madden will also repeat his bodyguard role as David Budd The 2018 drama creator Jed Mercurio confirmed in January that there will be a sequel, but it’s unclear when filming will begin
