JOCKEY Rob James apologized after a sick video of him riding a dead horse went viral after Gordon Elliott’s photo shame

A clip of James jumping on a corpse and pretending to ride it was shared on social media last night

It came after a picture of three-time Grand National winner Gordon Elliott sitting on a dead horse resulted in him being banned from racing in the UK

The jockey said the video was from 2016 after the horse sadly died during a practice gallop

James told The Irish Field: “I became aware of a video that was spreading me on social media

“I just want to apologize for my actions on behalf of a beautiful five year old mare who was born early on the morning of June 30th Suffered sudden cardiac arrest while exercising on April 4, 2016, were completely inappropriate and disrespectful

“I sincerely apologize to the mare’s owners, the staff who took care of her, the horse racing industry, and all horse racing enthusiasts for my actions

“Trying to defend my stupidity at the time would additionally offend and hurt the many loyal people who have supported me during my career

“I have embarrassed my employers, my family, and most importantly the sport I love

“I am broken by the damage I have caused and will do my best to make amends for those injured by my behavior”

James’ video is the second shock act for rock racing just two weeks before the biggest sporting event of the year

Elliott, 43, has apologized twice for his “moment of madness” that could cost him his career

Elliott told the Racing Post that he won the prize for the picture – in which he straddled a horse that had just died of a suspected heart attack – with his phone in one hand and the peace symbol in the other – for that Picture gonna pay rest of his life

The trainer, based in Co Meath, Ireland, said: “There is no justification for living or dead, the horse was entitled to dignity

“A moment of madness that I have to pay for the rest of my life and that my employees suffer for

“I am being punished, I fully understand that. But it absolutely breaks my heart to read and hear people who say I have no respect for my horses

“My whole life has been about horses since I was a child I don’t know anything else Horses are all I have I came out of nowhere and built a dream

“I just hope people can understand how sorry I am and find a way to forgive me for what I’ve done”
