Jill Hallfpwnny will cast its spell on viewers as she stars in the tense new TV thriller The Drowning
The drama series, which was produced just before the coronavirus outbreak last year in Ireland, centers on a mother who believes she caught a glimpse of her son who went missing nine years ago
Jill will play the lead role of the mother in question, Jodie, who “admits to a dangerous and transgressive path” after believing she discovered her child
The cast of Drowning also includes Line of Duty and The Bay star Jonas Armstrong, who will play Jodie’s brother Jason and Rupert Penry-Jones from Whitechapel, who will take on the role of Mark, the father of the boy Jodie believes that he is her son
The first trailer for the new series was teased on Monday by producer and former adulthood star Noel Clarke on his Twitter He wrote: “Our show #TheDrowning is coming up @ channel5_tv soon YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT”
After seeing the teaser, one of her followers replied, “This looks so good – can’t wait!” and another replied, “Oh my god, I’m excited !!!!”
The Drowning, airing four consecutive evenings next month on Channel 5, is written by Tim Dynevor – the real-life husband of Sally Webster of Coronation Street and father of Phoebe Dynevor, the young actress who met Daphne on Netflix who played Hit Bridgerton
Jill’s previous acting credits include Byker Grove, EastEnders, Waterloo Road, Liars, Ordinary Lies, and Dark Money
And she’s still a firm favorite with Strictly Come Dancing fans, even after her memorable triumph on the show in 2004,
