Edinburgh will be locked in Level 4 along with the rest of mainland Scotland on Boxing Day
Much of the country will be subject to the strictest restrictions for a period of three weeks, similar to the March statewide lockdown
Unnecessary stores, gyms, and many hospitality businesses will be closed completely
There are some differences this time around, however, for example, daily exercise is not limited to every day
You can also meet a maximum of six people from two households outdoors in a private garden or in a public place
Outdoor visitor attractions such as parks, gardens and zoo outdoor areas may also remain open for exercise and recreation
However, there are a number of daily activities and social interactions that aren’t allowed – here are eight things you can’t do in Level 4 Lockdown
In stage four, you must not meet anyone who is not in your household, either in your home or in your home
However, you can meet another household with a maximum of six people from two households in a public place
You can also go to another household to look after and support a vulnerable person
Only major retailers can remain open, including but not limited to grocery stores, pharmacies, and housewares stores
In level three, hospitality businesses were allowed to serve food until 6 p.m. However, in level four this is not the case

Restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars have to close However, takeaways can still be operated as usual
All holiday accommodations are closed to tourism Hotels, B&Bs and self-caterers are only allowed to stay open to important customers
This includes key staff and anyone who needs housing to attend a funeral
There are exceptions to this if there is a significant reason, including travel to work or some job-related activity
This means that the New Year is not freshly made Hairdressers, nail salons, spa and wellness services and tattoo studios are closed for three weeks from Boxing Day
At level four, you can meet others outdoors by following the rules for meeting other households for informal exercise or exercise
Outdoor gyms can also remain open, and non-contact sports such as golf and fishing are permitted for all ages

Driving lessons, including motorcycle lessons, are only permitted in level 4 if all occupants of the vehicle or vehicles come from the same household
