Reports indicate that transmission tests scheduled to take place in Northern Ireland this weekend are being canceled

A senior Stormont source told BBC Radio Ulster’s Nolan Show that broadcast testing that was due to take place before Saturday would be canceled and that the executive would make the announcement today

The Northern Irish executive is also expected to provide further clarification on other measures it agreed during a nightly meeting on Monday in its fight against the spread of the coronavirus

After Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled a number of new measures for England and Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced a new lockdown on Monday, the executive branch agreed to incorporate stay-at-home instruction into a law and travel ban. p>

First Minister Arlene Foster said ministers had “considered the gravity of the situation” before agreeing to extend the measures

She said it was right for the executive to take its time and come up with the right messages in order to get all of the agreed responses
