Emily Blunt’s pouring half a liter of Guinness has not yet received an official Irish seal of approval, according to Jamie Dornan

In a joint appearance in the New Year’s Eve special of the Graham Norton Show (29 Dec), Wild Mountain Thyme co-stars looked back on filming a pub scene for their new film that focused on Blunt’s beer-drawing skills on both the audience and the crew

Blunt explained to the TV host that she was asked to “pour a pint of Guinness” and that she thought the experience would be “amazing and that she would crush it”

The Mary Poppins Returns star went on to explain that the room “cheered” at first, but when the pint “turned into a pint of foam,” the turmoil quickly dissolved and even co-star Christopher Walken was unimpressed

After the photo of the extra frothy drink was revealed, County Down, Northern Ireland actor Fifty Shades of Gray immediately exclaimed, “This is sacrilege!” Confirmation that the actresses attempts to pour the infamous stout had failed

Dornan then called an Instagram account appropriately named Sh * t London Guinness and stated, “A legend, I think he’s from Cork or something, and basically people send him in those awful pints, notorious terrible Guinness here in London ‘

He then explained the terms of submission on the page: “It’s like no head at all, loads of heads, sometimes a pint of Guinness in a Heineken glass” before agreeing that Blunt’s attempt “right there” would be

Host Graham Norton (born and raised in Clondalkin, Ireland) was quick to defend the Golden Globe Winning Actress when he argued that there might be “too much gas in the pipe,” to which Blunt joked back, “Too lots of gasoline in the line, just like Jamie Dornan ‘
