He’s the dark horse of Strictly Come Dancing with Bill Bailey’s moves, and even wins praise from the notoriously elusive Craig Revel Horwood

The comedian and his professional partner Oti Mabuse have been at the top of the rankings for several weeks with their breathtaking routines

Black Books star Bill is now one of the favorites to be crowned this year’s champion and win the Glitterball trophy

Speaking to Lorraine, Judge Craig said, “To be honest, I secretly love Bill Bailey, I adore him, he just shocks me

“Every time I see him dance I am surprised, amazed and delighted I never thought he would make it

“He doesn’t look like the type or type of character I love him, I would love to see him in the finals. I think he’s brilliant, the dark horse of the competition “

Bill’s biggest supporter is his devoted wife Kirsten, who married the star Never Mind The Buzzcocks 22 years ago

They met at one of Bill’s gigs in 1987 when she was running the bar he was performing at

It seems, at first glance, love for the comedian who was determined to hold onto the woman he calls his “wild card”

Bill remembered the first time he looked at Kristin and said, “She had a very distinctive style, she had that long brocade coat, and I realized she was a free spirit and was doing her own thing

“We ended up talking and everyone went to a party and she put me on her sofa”

Bill was grateful for giving him a place to sleep and bought Kristen a bouquet of flowers – but this would be the first step in his year-long mission to convince her to give him a chance

He stated, “I didn’t have a computer for email, making phone calls wasn’t easy It was very old-fashioned”

His efforts worked, and the couple became a couple. Ten years after dating and traveling in Asia, Bill and Kristen decided to tie the knot immediately

He said: “We were traveling through Asia and sailing to a place called Banda with a beautiful lagoon and a smoking volcano on one side and a Dutch colonial fortress, an old church and the remains of a small town on the other.

In 2003, Bill and Kristen welcomed their son Dax, whom they named after a child they met while traveling

In an interview with the Guardian, Bill said of the meaning of the name: “Contrary to popular belief, Dax is not named after a Star Trek character

“They had a son named Dax and we always associated him with Indonesia and we always said, ‘If we ever have a child, that will be in the race’

“At the same time, I had rather lost sight of the various Star Trek spin-offs and didn’t even know that Dax was also the name of a character in Deep Space Nine until someone told me about it”

Bill spoke about his parenting style in an interview with Spiegel in July and said: “I’m pretty relaxed as a parent. Maybe I should be more disciplined, but that’s not in my nature. I’m pretty practical about the activities I like, however it when the boy does things

“We go biking and paintballing together and I taught him how to pitch tents The way he turned out to be my greatest achievement”
