Amanda and Alan were reunited on ITV’s DNA Journey

Amanda Holden and comedian Alan Carr have teamed up for this once-in-a-lifetime journey of discovery through their respective family histories

It has been called “the ultimate road trip with your best buddy by your side” by ITV

In the preview of the show, Amanda was already shocked by her results, which showed emotion and Alan said, “I said I wouldn’t cry”

On Instagram, Amanda and Alan had a friendly and funny conversation with references to the ITV documentary

Amanda sipped a cocktail as the couple laughed at instances on the show without giving too much away

Meanwhile, Alan was sitting in a darkened room – “Why is it so dark? Did you have a power failure?” said Amanda

When Alan turned on another light, the fans knew they were looking forward to a fun treat as both laughs were contagious

Amanda revealed that she had already received the Covid bump, to the horror of Alan who hadn’t yet received his

She said how they “ditch the vaccines” and Alan joked that she found them in “one leap” ‘

They both love a good rose on a sunny day, a glass of red when watering, and a G&T when the thermometer hits the top

Amanda said they were both more interested in each other’s stories than their own

They also said DNA was a completely different show as they kept meeting people on the show instead of just standing in a cemetery ‘

Amanda also revealed that they had traveled to Erith and Alan admitted that he had a terrible fire on his hand due to a Horlicks incident ‘

It was a very funny 20 minutes and at one point Amanda wondered if the two had been paired because they were related

Alan said the “ping notification” on the phone to reveal the DNA alert was such an intense moment, and Amanda admitted that she was “desperate to be related to the comedian”

Ahead of the show, she wrote, “I don’t know what the best part of this show was, finding out my family history or the non-stop cackling with my darling Alan Carr”
