If left untreated, patients can suffer from loss of muscle and bone strength, depression, low libido and menstrual disorders in women. In severe cases, patients can experience heart problems and organ damage

Behavioral traits of anorexia include people saying they have already eaten or will later, as well as counting calories, missing meals, hiding food, and eating slowly

In addition to weight loss, patients may experience insomnia, constipation, gas, cold, hair loss, and swelling of the hands, face, and feet
