EDMONTON – Finland defeated Switzerland in the preliminary round game on Sunday afternoon at the Junior Ice Hockey World Championship with 4: 1

Attilio Biasca from Switzerland opened the game at 3:44 am Anton Lundell moved Finland less than a minute later at 4:20 am

Juuso Parssinen put Finland ahead at 4:53 a.m. in the second half Aku Raty scored an insurance target at 10:41 a.m. of the third and Kasper Simontaival added another at 4:49 p.m.

Finland opened Christmas Day with a 5-3 win against Germany. Switzerland dropped a 1-0 decision against Slovakia in their first game

Lukas Parik stopped 30 shots and the Czech Republic (1-1-0) recovered from a 7-1 loss to Sweden (1-0-0) to upset Russia (1-1-0) a little Chaos in Group B with four teams now taking one win each, including the Americans (1-1-0)

Philip Tomasino had one goal and one assist, Devon Levi scored on his 19th Birthday 17 saves for the win and Canada (2-0-0) prevailed against Slovakia (1-1-0) to open the tournament with a back to-back victories
