The Edmonton Oilers managed to beat the Winnipeg Jets in Regulation 4-3, thanks to a hit from Leon Draisaitl

The Edmonton Oilers may not like their start, but they may be bigger fans of their goal

Leon Draisaitl scored the winning goal by less than a second to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday evening at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg

“I thought we had a couple of chances in the end,” said Draisaitl after the game

When a late-night power game was over in Edmonton, Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid attempted to move the puck around the Winnipeg net, then returned the puck to the reigning Hart Trophy winner, who took the puck in a split second shot past Jets goalkeeper Laurent Brossoit

Brossoit says he couldn’t really follow the shot when his teammate Andrew Copp slid in front of him to protect the net

“I didn’t think he could do five holes considering (Copp) is on the ground,” Brossoit said, “So I was just trying to chase the puck up and it obviously went under ‘ ‘

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Kyle Turris and Kailer Yamamoto also scored for Edmonton Adam Lowry, Nikolaj Ehlers and Blake Wheeler scored for the Jets

The game consisted of two starting goalkeepers who scored over 30 saves Mikko Koskinen made 35 saves in a win for the Oilers (3-4-0) while Laurent Brossoit made 34 saves

Winnipeg’s defeat results in a three-game winning streak (4-2-0) All three wins came against the Ottawa Senators

For the third straight year, the Jets scored first hit Adam Lowry after receiving a pass from Mathieu Perreault in the slot, wasting no time shooting the net and beating Koskinen. Lowry’s goal was his third goal of the season

Almost three minutes later the umpires threw a potential jet goal around Andrew Copp steered a puck over Koskinen into the back of the net But the umpires determined that there was a glitch after Copp’s stick prevented Koskinen’s glove from to save

“It’s a goal, I mean for myself,” said Maurice. “I think the puck passed his glove and I’m not even sure there was contact”(The referees) found it tight So there is no argument ”

“We played like crap,” Turris said, “They came out and played late last night and they just jumped on us from the start and dominated the period We played like crap and had to turn it around ”

Thanks to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, it took the Oilers 21 seconds to finish the game as they stepped into the second round Later in that time, Turris scored his first goal as the Oilers after receiving a pass from striker Zack Kassian / p>

Turris discharged a shot into the top right corner of the net to give Edmonton the first lead of the night at 5:42. James Neal also grabbed an assist for the game

A minute and 18 seconds later, Winnipeg striker Kyle Connor was injured, defending a shot from Oilers defenseman Ethan Bear

The puck ricocheted off Connor’s stick in his face and dropped him on his knees on the ice. He would leave the game and sit out the rest of the period to get back to the third in time

Ehlers combined the game with two goals apiece, 6:04 in the third half. It was the fourth game in a row in which Ehlers scored a goal for his team

“I feel good,” said Ehlers, “ I think that in the last three games I was able to really use my speed at the right moments.I tried to shoot the puck more ”

Wheeler later gave the Jets the lead again with a power play goal, thanks to a tripping error by Edmonton Oilers defender Darnell Nurse Wheeler took a pass along the goal line and slid the puck in from Oilers defender Kris Russell and past Koskinen

Yamamoto finished the game a minute and 48 seconds later, with a wild end. A late penalty from Dylan DeMelo would give the Oilers the man advantage until the last seconds of the third period

The game would eventually end with even strength on Draisaitl’s late winner, not giving the Jets time to react.
