The actress who played Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon show, which ran from 2007 to 2012, spoke to Anna Faris about her career last episode of her podcast “Empty Inside”

McCurdy shared, “I stopped trying to write and rule a few years ago It’s going great”

“I quit a few years ago because I originally didn’t want to. My mother set me up when I was six and by age, 10 or 11, I was the main financial support for my family. My family didn’t have a lot of money and this was the way out which I thought was helpful in guiding me to some success ”

The 28-year-old, who sadly lost her mother Debra to cancer in 2013, added: “Always, always, always acting was difficult for me,” as she suffered from nerves and anxiety during auditions

“When I started getting my nerves under control I actually got some traction, but I eventually stopped after my mom died because when she died, many of her ideas for my life died, and that was one own journey, and certainly a difficult one, ”she continued

McCurdy returned for a one-woman show called “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” which debuted in Los Angeles in February 2020 and Faris said, “I wrote this one-woman show and that and I really didn’t want to because of the annoying cause I feel like I don’t want to act anymore, I’m done so I only did it for this show but I think a one woman show will be most of it would ”

She also said of her previous roles, “My experience of acting is, I’m so ashamed of the parts I’ve done in the past

“I reject my career in so many ways, I feel so unfulfilled by the roles I’ve played and felt like the cheesiest, most embarrassing thing I’ve done the shows I was on between 13 and 21, and…” At 15 I was already embarrassed My friends at 15 don’t say, ‘Oh, cool, you’re on that Nickelodeon show’ It was embarrassing And I imagine there’s a whole different acting experience when you’re proud of Their roles are and feel fulfilled by them, ”added McCurdy, according to E!
