The New Orleans Saints have gone to Taysom Hill as starting quarterback for each of the last four games as reigning starter Drew Brees was out with 11 broken ribs and a lung injury despite FOX sports reporter Jay Glazer reporting that he was is “not 100 percent” in week 15, the Saints have decided to get him back in time to face the Kansas City Chiefs anyway

The Sunday afternoon matchup between the Saints and Chiefs is one of the most anticipated games of the NFL season as both teams have Super Bowl hopes, in fact, fans could preview Super Bowl LV that is, the Saints have already beaten their postseason ticket and chasing the Green Bay Packers for the top seed guaranteeing a round one reunion.Perhaps this is why Brees is pushing for so much play

Per Glazer, Brees is the driving force behind this decision. Glazer’s report came out on game day and this is what he had to say about the whole matter:

“I spoke to Drew yesterday and he said, ‘Look, I was able to throw with no problem this week’ He felt good I know he stood up for this game, Sean Payton felt he looked good too What’s also interesting about it is that because Drew Brees had scanned his ribs three times already, he couldn’t go back and look at them again because it’s just too much radiation so he doesn’t really know how healed those ribs are, so he can only walk past them how he feels So I said, “Why are you doing this? Why are you playing in this game?” He said, “Because then my team really needs me out there ‘”

Drew Brees is back today but won’t be 100% And with Jameis Winston late on the COVID-19 list, Taysom Hill is the only active backup QB for the Saints @ JayGlazer with the latest information and more: BildTwittercom / nWnCCq2q9v

Brees was in an injured reserve last month due to his broken ribs and Hill went 3-1 in his absence, however the team clearly misses Brees at the center and his return will help overcome the loss of Michael Thomas was also transferred to the injured reserve on Saturday and ended his regular season. The hope for the Saints is that everyone is healthy as the NFL playoffs begin

According to Glazer, Hill will be the only backup for Brees on Sunday if something happens as the team was also forced to put Jameis Winston on the COVID / reserve list
