On her way to the door, outgoing CNN host Brooke Baldwin talks about the lack of opportunities for women in the liberal network

“The most influential anchors on our network, the highest paid, are men. My bosses, my executives are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer has been a man for 10 years, so I was from many Surrounded Men, “Baldwin said on the Woman magazine podcast

BROOKE BALDWIN ANNOUNCES QUIT FROM CNN, SAYS SHE HAVE NOT SPECIFIED A JOB: “VERY DANGEROUS, VERY DANGEROUS”

Outgoing CNN presenter Brooke Baldwin is leaving the liberal network this month, voicing complaints about the lack of opportunities for women on CNN on their way to the door

In fact, CNN is the only major cable news network in America without a female primetime presenter, and many of the network’s senior executives are men Baldwin said they see the landscape change as more women appear on the cable news, but she mostly teamed up with men during her career

Baldwin, who was taken off the air and replaced by Jake Tapper the month before the 2020 election, was asked what male leadership means at CNN when it comes to telling important stories for women

“I know I personally fight for women’s stories,” Baldwin said, noting that she left a poster from her CNN series “American Women” in her office as a reminder that she could complete the project

She said “little by little” CNN had begun empowering women, citing digital and newsgathering executives as examples

“It’s getting better, but we still have a lot to do,” she said, “I want to have more women in the room”

In 2018, Hollywood trade magazine TheWrap analyzed weekday programming on various networks and found that CNN didn’t have as many female anchors as its competitors

“CNN has significantly fewer women in visible on-air roles than Fox News or MSNBC,” reported TheWrap

During the interview, Baldwin also referred to outspoken liberals Gloria Steinem, Stacey Abrams, Ava DuVernay and Megan Rapinoe as “pioneering women” whom they interviewed Baldwin has long proven to be liberals, despite being classified as a direct newscaster by CNN but she seems to let her guard down on the way out

Baldwin announced in February that she was leaving CNN after 13 years her exit was announced last fall after she posted cryptic messages on Instagram suggesting she was being forced out of the air after the network announced had that Tapper would take over her time slot before the 2020 presidential election

“As the elections begin, political maestro @jaketapper will record mine and his hour for the coming weeks. I wish I were with you, but I’ll see you on TV on the other side of the election,” wrote Baldwin in October

One fan asked, “Why are you taking so many weeks off at such an important time?”
