Who is Nick Cordero? A title card tribute to the actor aired on the new Blue Bloods episode on Friday night, and we have more information in there

Cordero was an accomplished performer for those of you first hearing about him. He was perhaps best known for his work on Broadway, but in the world of Blue Bloods he played the role of Victor Lugo, some kind of adversary for Danny Reagan He was one of the most entertaining arcs we’ve seen for Donnie Wahlberg’s character over the years

Unfortunately, Cordero is one of the hundreds of thousands of people who lost their lives to the global pandemic when he died on April 5 earlier this year July passed away after a long-competitive battle with his story making national headlines as viewers gave all the thoughts and prayers possible for his recovery. His battle inspired many others out there who either dealt with the virus themselves or knew someone who it was

One of the most powerful tributes to Cordero within the show came from Marisa Ramirez (Baez), who had the following to say on Instagram after his death:

Words Are Difficult Today Nick Cordero only shot a few episodes but his heartwarming energy and light were so unforgettable for our entire crew. It felt like he’d been with us for years. He brought us all so much joy and Laughter His struggle to survive from [the virus] has left an indelible mark on the world. His warrior wife Amanda gave us all an opportunity to support his struggle and be part of the hope Hope he recovers, hope we better understand what the virus is capable of and hope that we learn to protect ourselves and others from this virus Today I am sad I am losing hope I am afraid I am confused about why we are so divided Today I also know that I will wear a mask, when I leave my home If not for my neighbors and me, then #forNick for his wife and his one-year-old son Elvis We no longer have to lose fathers and more people have a rest. Nick

Title card honors are a nice way for a show to honor one of its own – its name lives on on later airs, and there may be viewers on the street to see this and take the time to learn more about Cordero’s fight and to experience determination as he fought in the hospital for months

Just like the Reagans are a close family, the Blue Bloods community is built on love and mutual respect. There are also a number of theater veterans on the show who know Cordero for this work as well, so we continue to send thoughts and condolences to his Family and friends as well as everyone who is suffering in this very difficult and painful year (Photo: CBS)
