President-elect Joe Biden is expected to join Neera Tanden as head of the bureau of administration and budget and Cecilia Rouse as chair of the council of economic advisers, three people familiar with the process, NBC News confirmed on Sunday

He is also expected to appoint Adewale “Wally” Adeyemo as assistant Treasury Secretary alongside Janet Yellen, NBC News has learned

Estimated appointments come on the same day that Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris announced their all-female communications team

Tanden is President and CEO of the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, and former domestic affairs director of the Obama-Biden presidential campaign

The obvious decision was immediately pushed back left and right with Sen’s communications director John Cornyn, R-Texas, citing an “endless stream of derogatory comments” about the GOP Senators Tanden must confirm her for the post

Brianna Joy Gray, the former press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential election criticized Tanden as “openly contemptuous” of independent Vermont and its coalition

“It’s almost like they don’t want progressives to support national democratic candidates,” added Gray,

Rouse, an economist who is dean of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, earlier this year headed a letter signed by dozens of economists advocating further action to contain the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic

If this were confirmed, she would be the first black woman to preside over the Council, according to the Journal

Adeyemo was senior international economic advisor to former President Barack Obama and was named the first President of the Obama Foundation last year
