Four shots were fired at a man sitting on his porch early Monday during a drive-by shooting in west Sydney

Police were called shortly before 2 a.m. after reports of gunfire in Frank Street, Mount Druitt

The 51-year-old man was drinking coffee and getting ready for work when two people in a little white hatchback drove by and fired the shots at his house

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Tickner, crime manager for Mount Druitt Command, said two bullets hit a four-wheel drive in front of the house, but no one was injured

Police collect video surveillance footage, interview people and seek public support to identify those responsible

“It’s hideous behavior This man was just doing his own business, sitting on his own porch. You don’t expect anyone to drive by and fire shots into your house, ”said Chief Inspector Tickner

He said the police do not believe the attack was targeted and that there was no information linking the man to criminal activity

“It’s just a normal family that lives in a house on Mount Druitt, as far as we know, there is no reason anyone would shoot that house,” he said

The car, which may be a Suzuki, drove down the street first and passed the man before 2am

Then he returned to pass his house a second time Then the passenger leaned out the window and fired the shots. The car drove further east and has not been seen since

According to a statement by NSW police, six people, including two children, were at home and no one was injured

“As part of an ongoing investigation, the police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the police,” it said
