Parramatta has fought the resurgence of the late Wests Tigers, winning their third game on Easter Monday in a row with a thrilling 36:22 win at Stadium Australia

The Eels appeared to be leading at 14 in the middle of the second half, but the home team had some possession weight to storm home and reach a grandstand with two attempts

Attempts against Adam Doueihi and Jacob Liddle made it a two-point ball game, seven minutes from time, until Blake Ferguson and Clint Gutherson crossed late to secure the win

It was a busy day for the eel couple, who fought under the high ball and torpedoed Doueihi all afternoon before heading into the blue and gold home

Conference location:
Australia Stadium, Sydney

The Eels took an early 16-0 lead as big men Marata Niukore and Isaiah Papali’i tried to beat the spirit of the pro-Tigers crowd of Jan.Breaking 056 spectators at the Australia Stadium

Some dazzling footwork before a deft kick from Mitchell put Moses Niukore on the right edge before Papali’i exploited a two-man overlap to work his way across the line

A brace against Tom Opacic before halftime kept the visitors ahead until West Tiger’s young gun Daine Laurie crossed the lead for the first attempt of his NRL career

Ferguson missed an afternoon with three mistakes – one of which led Stefano Utoikamanu to cross the border for a week in a row

Doueihi’s boot proved difficult for the eels to handle, and Gutherson was the next to spill a floating high ball courtesy of the Tiger Playmaker

Ferguson hit back later in the second half in his own attempt to extend Parramatta’s lead to 24-10 when Gutherson shifted into gear to place his winger on the right

A 40/20 against Reed Mahoney continued the visitor momentum into the middle of the second half, but the Eels began to drop their closing odds which, despite the result, won’t impress Brad Arthur

Doueihi gave the Wests Tigers a chance to play near the line with a web attempt within 15 minutes after Gutherson was previously penalized for an obstacle to the game on the set

The end of the grandstand was closed when a hard-fought Luciano Leilua Brooks sent Brooks into space with a late drop and the Wests Tigers halfback found Jacob Liddle as support

However, Leilua switched from hero to villain on points with a simple mistake to ease the pressure The Tigers suffered another defeat on the long Easter weekend
