Thousands of 12 Queensland class eagerly awaiting their senior year results this morning, with cohort first in school Provide Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR)

The class known as the “guinea pig cohort” was the first to reach the 7th grade High school year, and there were many traditional graduation events adapted to coronavirus safety measures

The 2020 class was the first full cohort to attend preparation, the first year of 7th grade Grade in high school and now the first to graduate with an ATAR during a health crisis

Rockhampton graduate Ridhi Beotra was nervous but realistic on Friday before the 9am release was scheduled

“It’s a bit daunting, but I think we’ll see how it goes,” she said

“I don’t think I’m going to sleep I think I’ll be up at 12 noon refreshing [the website] “

Ms. Beotra said the year made it harder for her cohort due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the challenge made her stronger

“I think I was someone with a pretty lofty goal that I wanted to achieve by the end of the year

“The whole COVID and lockdown thing definitely blew my mind a bit, and it was pretty scary to know that my future is in the balance based on that”

She said overall her school was “really good and we did it and I think we came out a lot stronger”

“It’s a one-time thing – I think every 12th Class will agree with me when they say they are nervous, “she said

“But I think the most important thing to remember at the end of the day is that it’s just a result and there are other ways to get into college and it’s not the be-all and end-all”
