Sometimes you can’t fix your microphone, Sometimes you forget your camera is on and you do something stupid

A Texas attorney appeared in a virtual court this week as a very confused kitten in a mishap related to the zoom filter that has since gone viral

The video of the zoom call shows Judge H Gibbs Bauer and attorney Rod Ponton – or rather a kitten with his voice – try to fix the paw problem while attorney Jerry Phillips looks on in amusement

“Mr. Ponton, I think a filter is activated in the video settings, “says Bauer in the lower left corner of the screen.” You might want to uh “

“I – I’m trying,” says Ponton’s cat avatar in the lower right corner of the screen, his voice shaking with confusion. “Can you hear me judge?”

“It is and I don’t know how to remove it,” he says, “I have my assistant here, but she tries “

“I’m ready to move on,” he says, “I’m live here, I’m not a cat”

The 394 Texas District Court posted the video Tuesday as a warning of the dangers of kittens joking around with filters in the program

“If a child has used your computer, check the zoom video options before attending a virtual hearing to make sure the filters are turned off,” wrote Judge Roy Ferguson on Twitter. “This kitten is just having a formal one Announcement of a case in 394th done (sound on)”

“I logged on to my secretary’s computer to appear on Zoom at this hearing When everyone is ready, the judge will call the case and each face should show up on Zoom, “he said

“A few light smiles and no derogatory comments,” Ferguson tweeted. “The lawyer struggling with the filter handled it wonderfully. Proof of professionalism! “

It’s unclear whether Ponton learned all of the pros and cons of zoom filters after the mishap – but he’ll likely be more careful with things like this from meow onwards
