The hotel is part of Marriott International and the first luxury lifestyle hotel in Melbourne. W-Melbourne is located at 408 Flinders Lane in the heart of an eclectic restaurant and trendy fashion district and aims to bring the “iconic street culture and emerging music scene” to bring the community to life

While time (and Instagram hashtags) will tell if this will happen, the hotel certainly has the amenities to back up that claim (or at least give guests a luxurious experience, no matter what find them outside the walls of the house)

W Hotels partnered with Australian architecture and interior design firm Hachem to bring W Melbourne to life, which guests should experience this way W Hotels describes: “W Melbourne’s design inspiration is based on the diverse and contrasting character of the city and is translated into vignettes from Melbourne’s street landscapes so that guests can discover the past of the dynamic city behind the scenes introduced famous neighborhood alleys known for their graffiti street art and eccentric, eclectic characters ”

“Victorian bluestone tiles connect the living room with the alley and blur the line between outside and inside, where the welcome desk is ready to greet the guests Fauna that grows above the famous Hosier Lane The illuminated glass and wood of the entrance to Flinders Lane contrasts with the shadows of the hotel foyer ”

W Melbourne has 294 stylish guest rooms and 29 suites. The hotel’s Wonderful, Fabulous and Mega rooms are inspired by the neighboring street-level newspaper kiosks that date back to the 1960s. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Skyline

The Marvelous Rooms feature eye-catching wall art of a wren, an Australian native bird pulling back a layer of fabric to reveal a colorful Melbourne scene, the graphic pays homage to the city’s roots as a fashion hub Flinders Lane is the focal point of the textile trade.The 175 square meter Extreme Wow Suite (W Hotels’ modern take on the traditional Presidential Suite) is located on the top floor of the hotel on Level 15 and has a large balcony with expansive views of the Yarra River and an interactive music station a fresh take on an old school jukebox
