Sam Neill, Jurassic World 3 and longtime Jurassic Park franchise star, reveals the animal he named after Jeff Goldblum on his New Zealand farm

Jurassic World: Dominion star and one of Jurassic Park’s original cast members, Sam Neill, has revealed that an animal on his farm is named after Jeff Goldblum known for portraying the step of Dr Alan Grant, Neill’s role in Dominion, marks the third time he’s returning for a sequel to the hugely successful Dinosaur franchise

During Jurassic Park, Grant and Dr Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) first met while trying to keep one step ahead of some very deadly dinosaurs that run amok, but while Goldblum returned for the somewhat unfortunate 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, stayed Neill noticeably absent When Neill returned to the franchise for Jurassic Park III in 2001, Goldblum wasn’t on board, it seemed like the two probably wouldn’t work together again on the franchise, that is, until Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World series made its third and final installment with the Coming Dominion Reached During the notoriously difficult production Dominion faced, Neill and Goldblum have proven to be old friends who only have respect for one another, however, this mutual appreciation seems to have ventured into strange uncharted territory

During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Neill was asked about the New Zealand farm he lives on with a multitude of animals roaming the property, the big question seemed to be whether or not he was one of them after Dominion castmate Chris Named Pratt or Not. Coincidentally, Neill has not yet used that particular name, but he did admit that it turned Goldblum’s namesake into a “retired Aries”:

Up there is Jeff Goldblum [looking out his window] – I can only see him in the distance, right up at the power pole. He’s a retired Aries. He’s got some friends

It is currently unknown what Goldblum thinks of having a retired ram named after him, but he’s not the only celebrity to receive such treatment, Neill had previously named one of the chickens on his farm after Kate Winslet the two recently worked together on Blackheart 2019 it seems it’s an honor to have an animal named after you on Neill’s farm, considering that Goldblum has previously worked with as unflattering movie characters as a human-fly hybrid in The Fly and a seedy mutt has been linked on the Isle of Dogs A retired ram with a few friends doesn’t seem too bad after all

Anyway, the biggest worry for Neill and Goldblum at this point is how they will reunite on-screen in Jurassic World: Dominion to deal with what will undoubtedly be a grand finale of How As mentioned earlier, the pairing of the two stars in the upcoming film marks some sort of milestone, and after nearly thirty years of being apart in a franchise they helped start, the world is ready for whatever comes next / p>
