The residents of the greater Sydney area now face the possible prospect of a lonely Christmas celebration after every state and territory reintroduced border restrictions against the 34 local governments in areas

Moves by other states and territories to blacklist Greater Sydney residents came as an additional 30 COVID cases were announced on Sunday, raising the Northern Beaches cluster to 70 infections

While Northern Beaches residents are currently subject to strict home stay restrictions until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. December 5, at 5:00 p.m., people arriving from Greater Sydney and the Central Coast will no longer be able to travel to other states as of Monday

Travelers from the Wollongong region cannot enter the SA either, while the NT and Queensland have closed the entire Illawarra / Shoalhaven region

ACT Health has advised that contrary to previous recommendations, travelers from the Shoalhaven area are not required to self-isolate

Greater Sydney extends from Hawkesbury to the Northern Beaches regions in the north, to the Blue Mountains in the west and the Wollondilly, Campbelltown and Sutherland regions in the south
