Woolworths has issued a recall notice for a number of frozen shrimp due to contamination that can cause disease
In New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and the ACT, 186 packs of the affected 1 kg bags of cooked and peeled Woolworths cocktail shrimp were sold
The recall only applies to a line of frozen shrimp and only to packages with a best before date of 210222
Anyone who has purchased the frozen shrimp can return them to their nearest Woolworths store for a full refund
Anyone who has concerns after eating the shrimp should seek medical advice, advises Food Standards Australia
“Woolworths takes product safety seriously and apologizes for the inconvenience this recall has caused,” said the supermarket spokesman
Woolworths has already made direct contact with the small number of shoppers who have purchased the product and are part of the supermarket’s rewards program
