Sydneysiders returning from their Easter vacation faced long delays trying to get back to town on Monday afternoon travel time

In the Blue Mountains, traffic eastbound from Hartley to Blackheath on the Great Western Highway is heavy due to a previous medical emergency at Mount Victoria, adding at least 40 minutes of additional travel time to the perpetual closure of the Bells Line of Road due to landslide damage means the Great Western Highway is the only route through the Blue Mountains

Meanwhile, there is heavy traffic southbound along the Hunter and Central Coast regions on the Pacific Highway approaching Hexham Bridge from Heatherbrae, adding at least 15 minutes of additional travel time on the New England Highway There is also heavy traffic between Hexham and Beresfield

Traffic south on the M1 Pacific between Morisset and Warnervale and between Somersby and Brooklyn is heavy and takes at least 45 minutes additional travel time

In Illawarra and Shoalhaven, traffic north on the Princes Highway between Nowra and Meroo Meadow is heavy, resulting in an additional travel time of at least 15 minutes

In Sydney, traffic is heavy going south on the M1 Pacific between Berowra and Wahroonga, while traffic is heavy going north on the Princes Highway between Waterfall and Heathcote

A previous truck roll on Punchbowl Road in Wiley Park had closed the road in both directions for several hours

“Motorists heading home after the long Easter weekend should plan ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time as there is a lot of holiday traffic on the main roads returning to Sydney and some regional areas”The Transport Management Center said

???? Motorists are also reminded that some roads in other parts of the state are still closed following the recent extreme weatherâ ????
