Hundreds of TSB customers were unable to access their funds due to an ongoing online banking failure

Customers on social media report that both the bank’s app and online banking website are unavailable Therefore, they cannot make payments or manage transactions

The independent website DownDetector, which tracks social media posts on website performance, shows hundreds of customers complaining of an outage

Users face an “unexpected error” while others say they have been unable to access their accounts or make urgent payments since noon on Tuesday

Debbie, a minimum wage social worker, told Mirror Money that she had been desperately trying to access her accounts all day

“I am a minimum wage social worker and especially at this time of the month I need to know exactly how much I have left before payday at the end of the month

“I’m stressed enough without this extra worry of I need food, gas, and electricity, but not knowing my current balance is very scary

On Twitter, a user wrote, “HI @TSB has your online banking app down? I can’t log into &, it’s pretty urgent”

Another said: “@TSB has been trying to log in since morning and the app is still unavailable! This shouldn’t be happening It’s unacceptable that we can’t access our funds when we need to get it sorted”

A TSB spokesperson said: “We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing issues with our mobile app and internet banking. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience”

According to government regulations, some TSB branches are still open to the public – however, most branches close at 5:00 p.m.

ATMs work as usual However, phone customers may have to wait a long time to access customer service due to the outage

The bug follows the lender’s IT migration in April 2018 that banned more than 19 million people from their accounts

Overall, the catastrophic meltdown resulted in costs of £ 3302 million, combined with customer compensation, additional resources and fraud
