(UPDATE: Dec 22 @ 6:20 am) – Both the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) and the Okanagan Connector (Hwy 97C) are open to start the day, but driving conditions are not optimal

Highway 5 reopened just before 2 a.m., about 12 hours after it closed on Monday afternoon due to “several weather-related incidents”

Highway 97C closed just before midnight due to an accident near Pennask Summit, but DriveBC later adjusted the reason for the closure to include “multiple incidents”

While both streets are now open, several road closure incidents on both highways show just how treacherous the journey is right now
