Her older sister Yioda took to social media on Christmas Eve to thank fans for the kind messages and thoughts sent to the family

“At this time last year Melanie wrote to you as she had done so wonderfully since George passed away on Christmas Day 2016, to thank you all for the love and good wishes you had for the family in 2019 had sent

“Melanie loved communicating with George’s fans and lovelies around the world, but as she wrote … We’ll dodge the bad and enjoy the good as much as possible this coming year … Neither of us could have known for sure What a tough 2020 would turn out to be, and none of us could have known that it would be so suddenly taken away from us within a few days

“We would like to thank everyone who sent us their thoughts and their love for Christmas when Melanie passed away We read every message and your words and your love have been a great comfort in a time of terrible sadness ”

The family wished the fans “a peaceful and loving Christmas break, however you will spend it” and signed the message as follows: “With love, Yioda, Jack and David xxxx”
